Tip Toein' In My Jordans: the Riff Raff song behind the meme

The song in the tip toeing in my Jordans meme is "Tip Toe Wing In My Jawwdinz" by Houston-born rapper Riff Raff, released as a single on June 10, 2014 and included on his debut album, Neon Icon. "Tip toeing in my Jordans" is simply the title said out loud: Riff Raff respelled both words his own way, and the internet went back to the plain spelling.

Who made the tip toeing in my Jordans song?

Riff Raff did. It is the stage name of Horst Christian Simco, a rapper born in Houston in 1982 who usually writes his name as RiFF RAFF. "Tip Toe Wing In My Jawwdinz" was the second single from Neon Icon, the debut album he released on Diplo's Mad Decent label on June 24, 2014; the album opened at No. 22 on the Billboard 200.

Top Secret Productions produced the track, which runs 4 minutes and 4 seconds. On its own it reached No. 24 on Billboard's Bubbling Under Hot 100, the list of songs sitting just below the main chart. The official video, directed by Mickey Finnegan and Riff Raff, went up on his YouTube channel on November 10, 2014 and now lives on RiffRaffVEVO.

Why is it spelled "Tip Toe Wing In My Jawwdinz"?

Because that is how Riff Raff writes. "Tip Toe Wing" is tiptoeing pulled apart into three words, and "Jawwdinz" is Jordans respelled with the same playfulness he applies to his own name. Know Your Meme calls the title an intentional misspelling of "tip-toeing in my Jordans." Hardly anyone types the official version, so the meme travels under the plain one.

That is why one track turns up as tip toeing in my Jordans, tiptoeing in my Jordans, tip toein in my Jordans and tip toe in my Jordans. In TikTok's sound library the title is "Tip Toe Wing In My Jawwwdinz," with three w's, so if a search for the official spelling comes back empty, try that one.

What do Jordans have to do with tiptoeing?

Jordans are Nike's Air Jordan basketball shoes, the line built around Michael Jordan. The first pair was made for him in 1984 and went on sale to the public on April 1, 1985. In a rap hook, Jordans stand for fresh, expensive sneakers you want people to notice.

Put the two words side by side and you have the joke the whole meme runs on: probably the most famous basketball shoes ever made, used for the least athletic move there is. Nobody tiptoes in Jordans to win a game. You tiptoe to slip past someone, to keep a new pair from creasing, or to make an entrance you have clearly rehearsed.

Two footnotes fit almost too well. Nike's Jumpman logo comes from a photo of Jordan in a pose that mirrors ballet's grand jeté, and Riff Raff, according to his Wikipedia biography, grew up obsessed with basketball and played shooting guard in high school. When he returned to the idea with "Tip Toe 2" in 2017, XXL's write-up of the video had him in fresh J's and a cowboy hat, tiptoeing across empty land.

Was the song a tiptoe meme before 2026?

Yes, in its first summer. In 2014, Vine filled up with six-second clips of people and pets creeping across the frame on their toes to the hook, and Know Your Meme counted more than 500 Vines tagged #tiptoeinginmyjordans by August of that year. Ludacris also released his own freestyle over the beat in September 2014.

Riff Raff kept the idea going himself: "Tip Toe 2," featuring Slim Jxmmi of Rae Sremmurd, came out in 2017, and "TiP TOE 3," with Chief Keef, followed as a single in March 2019. The 2026 meme gives the 2014 hook a second viral life, twelve years after Vine, and this time the dancer was generated by AI.

How did the song end up on the AI tiptoe clip?

A TikTok edit put it there. The AI reel that @stroinaya posted on Instagram on August 27, 2026 played over its own original audio. On September 29, 2026, TikTok user @6aimbot9 laid "Tip Toe Wing In My Jawwdinz" under the clip, captioned it as the kind of dream you get after dollar-store melatonin, and passed 850,000 views within a week, according to Know Your Meme.

The match was almost too literal. The little figure in the barn is already up on his toes, and the hook names exactly what he is doing. After that post the song stopped being one soundtrack among many, and its title became the meme's name.

How do I add the song to a video on TikTok, Reels or CapCut?

Add it in the app you post from. Videos made on this site come without music, so the sound is yours to choose:

  • TikTok

Upload your MP4, tap Add sound and search for "Tip Toe Wing In My Jawwwdinz" or "Riff Raff tip toe." Pick the RiFF RAFF track, then slide the start so the first step lands on the beat.

  • Instagram Reels

In the Reels editor, open the audio picker and search for the title or for Riff Raff. If nothing comes up, the track may not be licensed for your country or account type.

  • CapCut

Save the sound to your favorites in TikTok first. Then, in CapCut's desktop editor, open Audio, choose TikTok and sign in; your saved TikTok sounds show up there, ready to drag onto the timeline.

Picking the sound from a platform's own library keeps you inside that platform's music license and lists your post on the sound's page next to everyone else's. Using the track outside those apps, and especially in anything commercial, needs permission from the rights holders.

Not the song you were looking for?

A handful of other tracks share the tiptoe idea. None of them is the meme sound.

  • Riff Raff's own sequels

"Tip Toe 2" (2017, with Slim Jxmmi) and "TiP TOE 3" (2019, with Chief Keef). Same artist, same idea, different songs; the meme uses the 2014 original.

  • "Tip Toe" by Jason Derulo

A 2017 dancehall single featuring French Montana, released on Warner Bros. A hit in its own right, but unrelated to the barn.

  • "Tiptoe" by Imagine Dragons

An album track from Night Visions (2012). No Jordans involved.

  • "Tiptoe Through the Tulips"

A 1929 standard that Tiny Tim turned into a novelty hit in 1968. His recording also plays in the horror film Insidious, which makes it the tiptoe song most likely to give you chills.

  • The songs in the 1987 movie

Rumpelstiltskin (1987) is a musical with songs by Max Robert. None of them is in the meme, and the tiptoe dance isn't in the film either.
